Here's what we have to offer:
NEW!! -- Yashica Samurai repairs . Unless you drop it, the major problem with the Samurai is the battery.
There are actually TWO batteries in the Samurai. One is on the bottom (a 2CR5) and easily replaced by the owner.
The other is an internal battery (a 2025) and not easy to replace. The camera will only function if BOTH batteries
are adequately charged. Fortunately the internal battery will normally function for 10 years or longer, but they
eventually wear out -- and Yashica and independent camera repair shops will not, or can not, replace them. As a
Samurai owner, I have learned how to replace the battery and can handle it for $50. Just contact me for details.
We will need to determine up front if the problem is the battery. If so, just ship it to me. I'll fix it
and send it back to you -- with no extra charge for the battery or the return shipping. Sorry, the ONLY type
of "repair" we do on the Samurai is replacing the internal battery, but since the Samurai is so well
made, that is typically the only "problem" you will face -- unless you drop it!
- 16mm film
- Minox-size film
- Hit-size film -- for Hit, Mycro, Shalco, Tone, Snappy and many
other cameras.
- 110 film
- If you want to use a 110, we might be able to help. We no longer sell 110 cassettes, but we sell 16mm film
-- which is the same width as 110 film, so you can use 16mm film (see above) to reload these 110 cassettes. That's
right, this means that you can reload your 110 cassettes with color slide film, color negative film, B&W negative
film, IR film, or whatever you want! The 110 cassettes can be carefully taken apart and you can reload them yourself
-- instructions for reloading the cassettes can be seen at http://www.subclub.org/darkroom/roll110.htm.
If you need 16mm film, take a look at the wide selection listed above in the 16mm film section. This approach cannot
be used on all 110 cameras, but the SUBCLUB has instructions on how to determine if it will work with your 110
camera.
- FILM SLITTERS -- Here is an easy way to get new film into your old camera that uses obsolete film. It is a
film slitter. It cuts roll film down to a smaller roll film size. It is available in whatever size you can image
-- just about (see below). What makes it so great is because it is custom-made for your needs If you need
a 35mm to 16mm slitter, that's exactly what you get. BUT, if you want a 120 slitter to create 127 filma AND a 16mm
roll or a MINOX roll -- ALL AT THE SAME TIME, we have it. Amazing -- and convenient.
Here is a short tutorial using a 70mm to 120 film slitter: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/tutorial-70mm-film-to-120-220-620-a-guide-on-hand-rolling-medium-format-film-with-pictures.196700/
- These slitters are only $55 each and are shipped directly to your door -- for free! ($20 outside of the US)
