There are three 17.5mm cameras that used the name "SUN". They are easily confused, but they are not the same, and were probably made by different companies.
-- The form of the camera is similar to the earlier (1949) SNAPPY 17.5mm camera -- and maybe that was its inspiration. Both have a triangular-shaped body -- but the Sun has a waist-level viewfinder. Both have the shutter release on the top of the camera body. It sports a rather long 35mm lens.
-- A typical Hit-type camera -- and does NOT use 16mm film. It is often listed simply as "SUN" -- for two reasons. The name "SUN" is etched on the top of the viewfinder, and "SUN" also appears on the face plate of the lens -- however, if you look closely, you'll see a small "16" right at the end of the "SUN" name. And besides, the SUN cameras are completely different in body shape.
-- Perhaps made by the makers of the original SUN camera (above), this camera has a similar triangular body shape. Otherwise, it has the look more in line with the typical Hit cameras -- with a typical viewfinder. The face plate on the lens is marked "SUN B." Note the period after the "B".
