Laurie Import Co. made one 17.5mm camera -- in the early 1970's -- but they sold it under different "disguises". The only relevance to Hit-type cameras is the 17.5mm roll film and the fixed aperture & f-stop. The camera is made of bakelite (stamped "Laurie Import Co."), and the back snaps ON and OFF for loading.
-- this model is the same as the others, but is marked "Mini Camera" around the lens, and has some colorful paint applied to the front. It should not be confused with the numerous other cameras that are named "Mini Camera".
-- this version is the same, but was not marked or colored -- it was a SPY camera, after all. However, the colorful box was brightly marked "Dick Tracy camera". Some were sold with Dick Tracy's head -- which fit over the film advance wheel. This addition created two problems. First, it revealed your supposedly concealed location, and it made it impossible to advance the film. Nevertheless, it proved you were a bona-fide under-cover detective. It should not be confused with the much larger Dick Tracy camera made in the 1940's from the Seymore Products Co., which was also a very simple camera made of bakelite, but used the much larger 127 film, and would definitely not be considered a "Mini Camera".
