THE LATEST NEWS IN THE SUBMINI WORLD
4. SUBMINI NEGATIVE PRESERVERS DISCONTINUED (9/1/96)
PRINT FILE, the last company to manufacture negative preservers for subminiature film has just stopped production of
its last submini-sized negative preserver. These were designed for 110/16mm film and are made from uncoated polyethylene, so
you can make contact sheets with the negatives or slides right in the preservers.
Sure, you can store your submini negatives in an envelope, but you're just asking for trouble; get one scratch on a submini negative
and the print is ruined. Perhaps the best thing about these preservers is that they fit in a 4x5 negative carrier. If you have a
4x5 enlarger and a 4x5 glass negative carrier, you can make a contact print with enlarged images! On an 8x10 sheet, your 16mm shots will be larger that the images on a 35mm contact sheet.
PRINT FILE has a stock-on-hand of about 100 packets (100 preserver sheets are in each packet). When these are sold, no more will be
manufactured. So get 'em while they last! Unfortunately, you cannot buy directly from PRINT FILE but you can get the preservers
through Pacific Photo at (800) 735-5556. If you don't need 100 preservers, we can help you out. Check out the
SWAPMEET for smaller quantities.
