In the September issue of Popular Photography, the SUBCLUB received a rave review from the editors. In short, we have been discovered by the "larger" photographic community! Here are their kind words:
NETSURFERS SIGHT SUBS!
The Sub Club is (pick one): 1. a group of U-boat aficionados 2. a coupon deal at the hoagie stand 3. a World Wide Web site dedicated to the lore of subminiature cameras.
Those who have spools of 9.5mm film lying around will be happy to learn the right answer is 3. The Sub Club is an amusing, lively, informative Internet site devoted to the care and feeding of subminiature cameras, spanning the well-known (Minox), the less-well-known (Yashica Ataron), the positively obscure (Goldeck, Mikroma, Mec), and everything in between.
Just about every conceivable aspect of subminis is covered: history, collecting, buying, repair, reference works, processing and printing, field techniques, latest news -- and, of course, who has what film where. A Swap Meet section provides free classified ads, and the Coffee Shop provides discussion via an e-mail newsgroup.
And to emphasize that subminis are, after all, real cameras, a Gallery displays creative shots by users from around the world.
