MINOLTA 250mm LENSES

The 250mm optic is somehwat unusual, but Minolta made one from the very beginning.

The competition

Much to people's surprise, there actually are a few 250mm lenses out there.  Most are not mirror lenses and are pretty big.  A couple of them actually have automatic diaphragms.  The closest lens to the Minolta 250mm f2.5 is the Lentar 250mm f5.6 mirror lens. Good luck finding one.

Minolta made two 250mm lenses. The first was not a mirror lens, like it's later cousin. It was a 1959 low production lens, and now very hard to find. This one, like all of Minolta's long lenses of that time period, were marked in centimeters, not millimeters.

A new lens to the Minolta line-up of SLR lenses in the MD Rokkor-X series. It's a tiny mirror lens about the size of a 50mm normal lens.
