MINOLTA 100mm f3.5 & 4.0 LENSES
Minolta made several 100mm lenses with slower f4.0 and f3.5 apertures. These are generally just sought after by collectors. If you can't afford the 100mm f2.5, it's best to look for the MC Rokkor 100mm f3.5.

Minolta's first 100mm lens for the SLR cameras -- or at least it was intended to be. This was listed in the SR-2 brochure, and was probably just a prototype lens as the few examples look nothing like the lens in the brochure -- or any other Rokkor SLR lens from that period either! |

In 1959, Minolta updated their original 35mm f2.8, 100mm f3.5 (above), and 135mm f2.8 Rokkor lenses with automatic diaphragm action to mesh with the new SR-3 and SR-1 cameras. |

In 1965, Minolta came out with a series of "compact" Rokkor lenses. It was a select group of Rokkors from 35mm to 135mm that were a little thinner, a little shorter and weighed a little less than their predecessors. The 100mm f3.5 Auto Rokkor was one of these. This model was a "compact" version of the original 100mm f3.5 Auto Rokkor. The size and weight of the lens were reduced, but the optical formula remained the same. The filter thread was dropped to a less convenient 52mm filter thread. |

Continuation of the 100mm f3.5 from the Auto Rokkor series -- with meter coupling. It retained the 52mm filter thread. |

A less expensive, pre-set, short-lived, alternative to the 100mm f3.5 Auto-Rokkor with an unusually thin lens barrel and a 43mm filter thread. The extra numbers on the pre-set ring are the EV numbers for the early SLR cameras. |
FOCAL LENGTH: 100mm |

An updated version with a much thicker barrel and a 46mm filter thread. The EV numbers were dropped, just as they were on the cameras. |
