"Safari" is a word commonly used in photography, typically meaning a camera colored in green, grey, khaki, beige, camouflage, etc. All it really accomplishes is making it hard for you to find your camera when you need it. Anyway, what that has got to do with the cameras listed on this page is anyone's guess because this camera is neither green, grey, khaki, beige, nor camouflage -- just chrome.
Safari DF-300
The Safari DF-300 obviously has a connection to the Seagull DF-300. In fact, it is the same thing.
Safari SD200
You might assume that a camera named "Safari SD200" would most certainly have a connection to another named "Safari DF-300", but the Safari SD200 has absolutely no connection whatsoever with the Safari DF-300. It's been suggested that the SD200 is really just a rebadged Petri FTX of 1974, but pictures of both reveal that this is not the case. Not even close! Perhaps the Safari SD200 has a Petri bayonet mount, a Univeral 42mm (AKA Pentax) screw mount, or even a Pentak K bayonet mount, but it definitely does NOT have a Minolta / Rokkor bayonet mount -- and is merely listed here just to keep you awake. Who actually made it is anyone's guess, but it's probably even harder to find than the Safari DF-300. If you can somehow find one, it might be worth a LOT to some crazy camera collector!
Safari 127
This one causes even more confusion. Perhaps the French company that made it, INDO, was imagining a safari to Indonesia, but they didn't even get the camera's name right -- because it uses Instamatic 126 film! It does have a nice, large viewfinder anyway.
Safari SO82
And nothing can be confused with this!
